Tell Me And I Forget. Teach Me And I Remember. Involve Me And I Learn. –Benjamin Franklin
As I am a firm believer in Benjamin Franklin’s quote, I’ve joined the session and the following workshop organized by #WIPChennai this Saturday.
The event started with the welcome speech by Padmini Janaki, Women In Product Chennai Chapter, Founder of TheProdcast. Next. the insightful session was given by Ramya Narasimhan, Senior Manager-Product Management about Global Products Entering India – A Raw Product Journey. The key takeaways I’ve learned from the session before starting the product, need to spend more time on research before jumping into the real execution. We have to decide, we need to build or buy a brand. The raw product journey will be in the below major phases.
-
Define the Business Model
-
Market Study
-
Customer Discovery
-
Competitive Analysis
-
Product differentiation
-
Customer Interviews
The business strategy should have a strategy for 2 years, 3 years. We have an interesting Q & A session also following the session.
Next is the workshop anchored by Haridra and Raj Nandini with an introductory quiz, and given an outline about the workshop. We have formed teams by saying numbers 1, 2, 3, etc, and the interesting part was my team members were not friends or met earlier. This was the first time I met them.
Each team has an option to choose a colored tag. After that, the anchored team has shown in the presentation about which color represents which brand. Next, the team has to build a Raw Product Journey plan with the discussion for 30 minutes and we have to present it after that. We have got the brand Disney Plus. We need to come with a Raw Product Journey for the brand. We had a great discussion and prepared a strategy. All the teams have done a great job of coming up with great strategies. We have learned to highlight the unique selling point as well as about the feature differentiation. Overall it was a great event!!
